Leader In Training Program (Gr. 11 & 12)

Are you a motivated and compassionate young adult aged 16-17 with a heart for guiding children, deepening your faith, and fostering a sense of community? Look no further! Our Leaders in Training (LIT) program is tailor-made for you. Join us in a transformative journey that will shape your leadership skills, connect you with like-minded peers, and nurture your spiritual growth.

What You'll Do:

  • Cabin Mentorship: Work alongside experienced cabin leaders as you assist in guiding and supporting a cabin of campers, ensuring their safety, well-being, and engagement in activities.

  • Devotionals and Worship: Participate in inspiring faith-based sessions that encourage personal reflection, spiritual growth, and a deeper connection with God.

  • Skill Workshops: Engage in workshops that sharpen your leadership skills, enhance your problem-solving abilities, and build your confidence as a role model.

  • Team Building: Collaborate with fellow LITs in fun team-building activities that foster strong friendships and a sense of unity.

  • LIT Camp: After Staff Training & Day Camp you will participate in LIT Camp which is a hybrid of Teen Camp with extra leadership training & an out trip!

Requirements:

Going into Gr. 11 or 12.

Passion for working with kids and creating a positive impact.

Desire to grow in your faith and contribute to a community of like-minded individuals. Commitment to personal and leadership development.

Once you are accepted into the LIT program you will be automatically registered in LIT Camp!

R&R Camp: TTSS (Gr. 11 & 12) + Completion of LTD Program

Formerly JCL (Junior Cabin Leader)

Have you completed the LTD Program? TTSS (Training to be Senior Staff) assist senior cabin leadership on the front lines in the cabins and during camp activities, and get to provide leadership and spiritual guidance, with support, to our campers.

​

Cabin leading is an exciting role!  Placed in a cabin with 5-8 campers aged 9-12, you will have an incredible week, fostering cabin culture, guiding kids through the camp schedule, and providing spiritual leadership. All this, while being a part of our incredible camp staff team, bringing the heart behind Roots & Rings to life!

Work Crew Program (Gr. 9+)

Are you a teen with a passion for leadership, adventure, and making a positive impact on others and looking for an unforgettable summer experience that combines leadership and faith? Look no further! Charis Camp is offering a unique opportunity for you to join our Work Crew Program and play a pivotal role in making camp magic happen, all while deepening your connection with God.​

 

What's in it for you?

Leadership Development: As a Work Crew, you'll be at the forefront of camp operations, guiding your peers and younger campers through tasks that keep our camp running smoothly. Gain valuable leadership skills that will shine on your resume and in your personal growth, all while aligning with the values of faith.

Team Work: You'll learn the importance of teamwork, responsibility, and contributing to a vibrant community!

Personal Growth: Experience firsthand the satisfaction that comes from contributing to something larger than yourself. Your hard work will directly impact the success of our camp, teaching you valuable life skills while making lasting memories!

Special Perks: As a Work Crew, you'll have the chance to enjoy exclusive team-building activities, leadership workshops, and even participate in some of our camp's exciting adventures, all while fostering a deeper connection to your faith.

 

What You'll Do:

  • Cabin Leader Break Coverage: Provide support to cabin leaders by covering their breaks, and ensuring campers are supervised and engaged in activities during those times.

  • Help maintain the cleanliness and organization of camp areas.

  • Game Setup: Prepare and set up various camp games and activities, contributing to the overall fun and excitement of the camp program.

  • TUCK Distribution: Help with the distribution of campers' TUCK, ensuring they receive their treats and supplies in an orderly and timely manner.

  • Participate in team-building sessions and leadership workshops that incorporate faith-based values.

  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with other camp staff and leaders to coordinate tasks effectively and contribute to the overall success of the camp.

​

​Requirements:

  • Must be going into Gr 9 or older. 

  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic.

  • Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative.

  • Willingness to learn and take on new challenges.

  • Available for Staff Training

  • Available to serve for at least one week in July-August

​

R&R Camp: LTD Program (Gr. 9-12)

Are you ages 13-17?  Are you looking to:

  • Develop new and strengthened friendships.

  • Take a deeper dive into your relationship with God.

  • Experience a week of exciting activities where you serve young campers in a team-based environment?

If so, the Aug. 5 – 10 R&R LTD program may be a fantastic fit!

 

Why Choose the R&R LTD Program?

​

The goals of the R&R LTD program are to help you:

  • Develop in spiritual maturity.

  • Experience God by exploring spiritual service.

  • Gain capacity to be a successful camp leader. 

The hope is you will take resulting growth into your everyday life, and that you will become a R&R camp staff member in future years.

 

To ensure a quality mentorship experience, R&R LTD program admittance is annually limited to 6 male and 6 female LTD members.  Applications are reviewed by R&R LTD staff to determine program best fit.  

 

Staff are looking for individuals who evidence:

  • A personal desire to grow in their relationship with Jesus.

  • A heart for serving children.

  • Commitment to successfully participate in a team-based environment. 

 

The application process requires brief answers to questions that help us get to know you better. You are also asked to identify two references who know you well. To start the application process, select the link below.

The R&R LTD program application portal opens on February 1, 2024. Those submitting completed applications by Feb. 21, 2024 will be contacted by R&R staff no later than Mar. 8, 2024 regarding application success. Those submitting completed applications after Feb. 21, 2024 will be contacted no later than 2 weeks after the date of completed application submission. Program registration for successful applicants is complete upon payment of the $305 + GST program fee.
