Dining Hall Repairs
Our long term plan calls for the conversion of our gym into a new dining hall, but in the meantime the current building, with the original section being built in 1963 is our oldest building on site that hasn't received any major updates or repairs. The building is uniquely situated close to the creek where we would no longer be able to build if it were to be a new building so it is important to invest money in the building so that it can be converted for future uses.
Needs: New roof, flooring, washrooms, windows, drainage, furnaces/air conditioning.
Total Project Cost: ~$75,000
Charis Camp has a mobile home on site that serves as accommodation for our year round staff. Being able to provide quality housing is part of what makes it affordable for Charis to have the staff that we need to run this camp. Our mobile home is in need of some major repairs in order to remain function. A quick cost analysis has shown that it will be cheaper to repair and renovate than to replace the home with a newer one.
Needs: New roof, demolish and replace leaking/rotten mud room, replace old kitchen cabinets, replace water damaged floor, replace water damaged bathroom tile, repaint, new skirting and siding.
Total Project Cost: ~$8000
