The Story and the need:
In 2019 we began a campaign to revitalize our aging dining hall. Until we have the resources to build a new, larger, dining facility, we need to make sure our current building is usable, comfortable and welcoming. In March 2020 we were putting the finishing touches on the inside renovations (new floor, windows, paint) and approaching our fundraising goal for the roof when the world was turned upside down by COVID-19. Because of the global pandemic, we have had very little regular income over the last 2 years. There is hope as we welcome groups over the fall and spring that we will have a relatively normal summer in 2022, but it will take time to recover financially. However, thanks to the overwhelming support of so many donors over the fall, we have made huge progress towards being able to head into the summer ready to welcome campers and guests. |
The praise and thanks:
We have raised the $40 000 dollars we need to replace our roof, and thanks to generous local businesses and skilled workers, we are scheduled to have that work done in early spring 2022. In addition to the money for the roof, we have also raised enough money to restore the dining hall's aging basement.
Thank you so much, community. As a non-profit organization we rely on your generiousity and your belief in our mission to serve the community and help people to know the love and hope of Jesus. Many people have given of themselves over this last year and half to help Charis Camp, We so appreciate every bit of it.
Join us in prayer. Everything we do, we do because we love Jesus and want the world to know the joy of knowing and following Him. If you're the praying type, please join us as we ask and trust God for direction and provision, and thank Him for leading us through these times.
