Help Us Bring our Zipline Back - 2017 Edition!
Last year we raised over $2000, and this year (hopefully with the help of dollar-for-dollar donations matching), we're aiming to REACH OUR GOAL!
Charis Camp & Conference Centre launched the HELP US BRING OUR ZIPLINE BACK campaign back in November, 2016 for Giving Tuesday, a global giving movement that has been driven by individuals, charities, businesses and communities across Canada and in countries around the world. Just as Black Friday kicks off the holiday shopping season, Giving Tuesday is the opening day of the giving season.
Thousands of Canadian charities, businesses and community groups have used Giving Tuesday to rally generosity and help make the world a better place in countless ways. Around the globe people are participating in Giving Tuesday activities in dozens of countries including Australia, Brazil, Kenya, Slovenia, Tanzania, the UK and more.
Giving Tuesday is an incredible opportunity for Charis Camp to raise awareness around our plans to improve our already awesome facilities as we can continue serving guests and campers at the most affordable rates possible. A number of years ago, our zipline was decommissioned due to changing standards required for insurance. To BRING OUR ZIPLINE BACK, we need to completely re-engineer and rebuild it to current standards.
Our ropes course and zipline are key elements to team building exercises, and faith building experiences.
In the fall of 2015, Charis Camp lost part of the ropes course in a wind storm, and we're using the donations from Giving Tuesday 2016 to repair those stations, and complete 2 additional ropes course stations. WITH an additional $7,500 we can reach our ultimate goal, and BRING OUR ZIPLINE BACK!
We need a team of people to invest in this goal. It feels like a big dream for a small group of people, but we believe that the impact it will make on generations to come is totally worth the effort. Please join us in adding smiles, adventure and a great atmosphere where lives are changed every week- at Charis Camp!
